DIY Fall/Winter Air Re-freshers

Cool weather is creeping in. I am in love with these crisp cool mornings. No more ninety-degree days do I see in the near future and this makes me smile. It’s time to dig out those snuggly hoodies and flannel shirts that I adore.

I would say what I see and hear the most about are pumpkins as the leaves begin to change into those fabulous golds and oranges, but times have sadly changed. I was seeing pumpkins all last month before October could even get here, and now all the stores are packing in the Christmas items. Its frown time on so many levels. I want pumpkins with ghosts, skeletons, and goblins when October is here. I don’t want to see Christmas trees and decorations until November. However, no one asked my opinion, so I am left to give it in its entirety here.

Moving on…I still love that fall smell that fills homes during the chilly months. What I don’t like are the chemicals that laden many of those said smells. I thought I would share some do-it-yourself ways to achieve those smells, or close to them, that are safer for you and your family’s.

Here you go – you’re welcome.

In a glass, 8 oz spray bottle, add a pinch of Epsom salts (Epsom salt helps keep the essential oils emulsified in the water). Fill almost to the top with distilled water. Then add any of the essential oil blends of your choice from below.

  • 10 drops juniper
  • 15 drops sage
